Guideway Technician @ Ottawa operations site

Your future role

As a Guideway Technician, you are responsible for maintaining the assets on the guideway of the line (fences, track, greens management, drainage control of the platform and tunnel, overhead catenary system, access control etc.), in line with specified Quality procedures.

In this industrial/field work environment, physical demands include working outside in all weather conditions, working at heights, etc. Flexibility to work on different shifts will be required to meet operational requirements.

All activities will be performed in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as prescribed by legislation and the ALSTOM Health & Safety policies.

The starting rate is $32.46/h.

You’ll specifically take care of

- Complying with and enforcing EHSS policies and rules
- Carrying out all levels of examination and work arising on the line guideway
- Monitoring of incoming work orders
- Maintenance of some other assets (tunnel ventilation, security system, pumps etc.)




- Reporting activities (work orders/inspections) through a Computerized Maintenance Management system

We’ll look to you for

- On‑time resolution for incidents
- Closing of all Work Orders with accurate information and on time
- Working with the Rail System Team in case of emergency or extreme weather in order to maintain line operation
- Support and supervision of external supplier representatives

All about you

- Experience as a track technician/knowledge of the rail environment desired
- EHS champion and field expert
- Ability to drive/operate machinery and heavy equipment
- Flexibility and availability to work on 24/7 rotational shifts
- Solid supporter of teamwork with good communication & computer skills
