About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Research & Data Services Officer (CRDSO) to lead its national portfolio of researcher-facing services. The successful candidate will be responsible for executive leadership in areas such as research data management, research software and services, researcher enablement, and training. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the services provided are in line with the needs of the research community and have a tangible impact on the advancement of research and innovation. The CRDSO will work closely with the Chief Partnerships and External Relations Officer and the Chief Technology Officer to align service priorities with the requirements of researchers,



institutions, and partners, while maintaining the highest standards in architectural, cybersecurity, operational, and sustainability frameworks.

Applicants for the CRDSO position at the company should have a strong background in research excellence, scholarly impact, and funding success, with a proven track record in leadership within research services, digital research infrastructure, data services, or large-scale service delivery environments. The role requires a strategic and systems-oriented leader who can effectively translate complex information into transparent priorities and measurable outcomes. The ideal candidate will hold a graduate degree, preferably a PhD, in a relevant discipline, and have over 10 years of experience in progressively senior roles. Experience in national, academic, public sector, or digital research infrastructure organizations is highly valued.
