At Cambridge Elevating, we are seeking someone to join our team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. We are the premium home elevator manufacturer for North America. Our purpose is to design and build the best home elevator equipment that allows people to age in place, build houses on a smaller plot of land, live their life with a higher degree of comfort, & overcome accessibility needs.

1. Gain fluency and become familiarized with current product offerings, designs, features, technologies, and governing standards.
2. Lead and take ownership of the development of the Low-Cost, Low-Capacity Electric unit as the primary responsibility. Become familiar with new product scope and timelines.
3. Become an integral part of the R&D; Engineering team by leading or participating in product & process improvements.
4. Uphold and exemplify CE core behaviors and provide leadership to Engineering team members.
1. Lead the development new product offerings and features to close competitive gaps, and enable dealers to win more jobs in a manner that is reliable and repeatable.
2. Facilitate designs that add value to CE's brand and are befitting of our reputation.
3. Instate and uphold high standards while creating a safe learning environment and promoting accountability
4. Provide mentorship to Engineering team members to support their growth and development.
Required Qualifications:
Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in either the Mechanical,
Mechatronics or Robotics field, with a strong commitment to continued professional development.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required.
5+ years of experience leading the design and development of dynamic electro-mechanical systems, as well as creating & executing test plans to evaluate prototypes.
Proven ability to manage a project within an Engineering team throughout all phases of design and implementation (concept, detailed design, prototyping, test & validation, and production).
Ability to use engineering principles and tools, such as CAD modeling and FEA (SolidWorks) and the ability to develop products that meet structural, safety and code requirements.
Possess a strong knowledge of DFM, FMEA, tolerance stack ups, BOM creation, and engineering documentation.
Adaptability is key to perform well in a department with dynamic needs tempered with focus to drive projects to completion.
Leadership experience (from work, community activities, sports or military service) is an asset.

You currently live more than a 45 minute commute from Cambridge Ontario
You do not have direct experience leading (or participating at a very high level) a product development project which was done for business purposes (i.e. not in an academic setting) and have at least 1 reference to discuss your contributions
Comp Package:
Salary range of $80k - $105k dependent upon applicable experience
