We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join a team in Edmonton. This is a fulltime, in office role in the NW. The ideal candidate is organized, confident communicating with various departments, and thrives in a fast-paced setting with tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Process new hires, rehires, employee changes, and terminations, including Records of Employment (ROEs).

Complete full-cycle weekly and bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees, including expense reimbursements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all legislative requirements.

Support Human Resources with the administration of employee advantages and the RRSP program.

Work closely with Project Managers and Site Supervisors to resolve payroll discrepancies and obtain missing payroll information.

Perform accurate data entry, payroll calculations, and payroll record maintenance.

Prepare invoices and issue remittances to unions, benefit providers, and for employee garnishments.

Process company vehicle ticket deductions and other payroll-related adjustments.

Prepare payroll summaries, reports, and supporting documentation as required.

Maintain payroll systems by implementing legislative,



benefit, and union rate updates.

Balance payroll records with government remittances, benefit providers, and general ledger accounts.

Prepare year-end payroll documentation, including T4 processing.

Required

Minimum 3 years of Canadian payroll experience; 5+ years in a similar role is preferred.

Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Solid understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.

Preferred

Experience in the construction industry or a similar small-to-medium-sized business environment.

Experience processing payroll for unionized employees.

Experience using Explorer Eclipse ERP.

Post-secondary education in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
