Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $29.38 - $30.96 per hour.

Job Summary

You will work closely with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to deliver client‑centered care in home and community settings. In this role you will support rehabilitation by implementing treatment plans, monitoring client progress, and helping adapt care to meet each individual’s evolving needs.

Responsibilities

- Carry out designated components of a rehabilitative treatment plan and/or program such as activities of daily living, mobility, strengthening and balance exercises/activities, and leisure therapy; provide functional skills training to clients/families and integrate with other client supports within the community.




- Observe and report cognitive and functional changes in a client’s ability or behavior to the therapist; progress or regress the treatment plan as appropriate and in consultation with the interdisciplinary team; perform various tests such as Berg Balance, Timed Up and Go, and six‑minute walk test.
- Document in the client’s health record according to practice standards and program guidelines; complete required reports such as workload and department statistics and perform administrative duties, including accessing client information as required.
- Demonstrate the use of assistive devices to clients and their families and assist with manual and power wheelchair mobility training.
- Prepare, modify, and organize equipment such as splints, seating and exercise devices, mobility and assistive devices; set up and adapt equipment such as installing ADL equipment for trial, changing wheelchair backs, and adjusting wheelchair height; provide education to clients, families, and other healthcare providers on patient lifts, transfers, positioning, and body mechanics.
- Prepare and apply therapeutic treatment modalities such as cognitive retraining, transcutaneous electrical stimulation, orthotics and/or prosthetics, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, hot packs, and ice treatments.
- Prioritize, organize, and schedule daily workload by coordinating and communicating workload and scheduling concerns to the Manager, Clinical Operations, or designate.
- Maintain therapy equipment and supplies by cleaning equipment and maintaining inventories; provide input regarding the purchase of new equipment and supplies,



general maintenance and repair of equipment; report malfunctioning equipment and/or supply needs and pick up and deliver equipment as required.
- Advocate for the client by problem‑solving in areas such as accessing community resources, teaching community integration skills and alternate transportation; educate the client’s family, community volunteers, and other program staff about the client’s functional abilities, safety precautions, and risk factors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program plus one (1) year of recent related clinical experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Valid BC Driver's licence and access to a personal vehicle for business‑related purposes.
