The Broker is responsible for converting prospective customers into paying customers while completing their requests, and processing client transactions within the applicable quality standards set by the company. The Broker also identifies the needs of the client, provides guidance, and ensures proper protection while maintaining an effortless customer experience.

Job Description

Travel Insurance Sales Broker

Typical Day

- Actively pursue opportunities to meet or exceed new business sales goals, and retain existing clients. Process requested changes, utilizing appropriate resources within the applicable quality standards set by the company.
- Assess the needs of the client and apply sound judgment when reviewing, modifying, and adding coverage to policies while providing protection guidance and advice to the client as required.
- Provide claim counseling and assistance to the client within company guidelines.
- Maintain and apply a complete understanding of the insurers’ underwriting guidelines.
- Demonstrate and maintain a working knowledge of all applicable portals, customer relationship management systems, and policy management systems.
- Document all details of client requests and conversations in the appropriate system, using the applicable templates.
- Refer files requiring approval to the designated individual with recommendations for handling.
- Exhibit accountability with regard to readiness in handling client contact opportunities.
- Respond favorably to all coaching and training provided and make use of self‑coaching tools where available.
- Handle customer’s personal information in a professional and compassionate manner.




- Be flexible in assisting other departments within the Global Assistance and Travel Insurance division.

Skills & Training

- OSSD required; post‑secondary education is an asset.
- Strong computer skills.
- Experience working in a contact center or finance environment is an asset.
- Experience working in a sales‑focused environment is preferred.
- Availability to work various shifts and days of the week as required.
- Ability to handle fluctuating work volumes in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
