Join the YONA-Sistema program as a Woodwinds Teaching Artist in Edmonton, Alberta, from September 2026 to June 2027. Provide music instruction and inspire youth through collaborative teaching.
This part-time role focuses on delivering instrumental music education to groups of up to 20 students. You will work daily during after-school hours, planning and preparing lessons while fostering supportive relationships among students, families, and colleagues. The position includes concert participation and professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide daily woodwind instruction to students
• Lead rehearsals and performances effectively
• Support students academically and socially
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of educators
• Advocate for inclusive, trauma-informed practices
Requirements:
• Advanced training in Woodwinds (clarinet and/or flute)
• Post-secondary education in music preferred
• Experience teaching music to children
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Transparent criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
