Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Manager, Transportation Services, this position is responsible for transporting medically stable clients to and from medical appointments, leisure activities, programs, and home. The role follows a preplanned route and defined time schedule, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients during onboarding/offboarding, transport, and accompaniment. The position maintains qualified, ethical, and safe standards in accordance with Traffic Regulations,
Carewest’s Frame of Reference and Philosophy of Care, and delivers excellent customer service. Responsibilities include completing various forms and records such as route sheets, time sheets, incident and accident reports, and performing related duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduation from Grade 12 is required.
- Valid Alberta class 2-4 drivers’ license required.
- Clean drivers abstract required; First Aid is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of professional driving a bus or large vehicle preferred; Training in Q’Straint – 4 Point Securement Systems an asset.
- High attention to detail, initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision required.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor required.
- Experience in a health care environment is an asset.
