Join Main Street Project as a Van Outreach Worker in Winnipeg, MB, focused on nighttime outreach to support marginalized community members. This role centers on harm reduction and urgent needs assistance.
As a Van Outreach Worker, your primary aim will be delivering essential services to those most in need. Through the outreach van, you’ll ensure that vulnerable individuals receive food, shelter, and medical attention during emergencies. Your work will directly contribute to community health and safety initiatives in the area.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver food and personal hygiene supplies to community members
• Operate the van and provide transport as directed
• Document critical incidents and maintain accurate records
• Conduct wellness checks in encampments and shelters
• Inform clients of available services and advocate for their needs
Requirements:
• Education and experience in human services preferred
• Knowledge of harm reduction and client-centered philosophies
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
• Current Mental Health First Aid certifications
• Criminal Record Check and transparent registry checks necessary
