As a Planner, you are responsible for coordinating assets to satisfy the needs of clients, drivers and the company. You will predict availability and potential of assets in your assigned region, and properly acquire freight to effectively utilize those assets in the best interest of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish resource availability by analyzing drivers, tractors and trailers in the region and interpreting restrictions and opportunities.
- Establish and forecast customer needs and demands.
- Monitor, forecast and serve corporate clients’ needs on a regular basis.
- Develop overall strategy by assembling all relevant information, planning, and communicating it in an effective and timely manner to the Fleet Management group for execution.
- Perform general customer service functions, including communicating with customer personnel regarding load issues, monitoring loads and strengthening relationships with key contacts.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of previous transportation or logistics experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven analytical and critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Demonstrated skills in aligning goals with strategic direction to achieve targeted business results.
- Proven team player with ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams and develop collaborative relationships.
- Robust knowledge of company goals, work direction and practices.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including schedules such as 4‑on/4‑off from 06:00 to 18:00.
