About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to serve as the most senior medical leader within its women's hospital and health center. The CMO will be responsible for ensuring that all programs and services are delivered with the highest quality and standard of medical care, in line with the organization's mission to provide specialized health care services. This role involves supporting a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, midwives, and dentists, and holding executive accountability for research programs. The ideal candidate will be a highly regarded clinician and seasoned medical leader, with a deep commitment to patient-centered care, clinician wellness, clinical excellence, and anti-racism. They should have a track record of developing and implementing strategies that enhance clinical quality and patient outcomes,
and possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Candidates for the CMO position at the company's women's hospital and health center should bring deep clinical credibility and established relationships within women's health. Experience in women's health, maternal-fetal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, neonatology, reproductive health, or a closely related specialty is highly valued. The successful candidate will be expected to engage, influence, and inspire a broad and diverse medical staff community, and experience in managing and mentoring physicians, as well as a solid background in fostering a culture of continuous learning and promoting evidence-based practices, is essential. The CMO will work in close partnership with the Chief Operating Officer to provide leadership for the human, financial, and material resources required to support the organization's goals and vision. A practicing physician in an aligned discipline, with current registration or eligibility for registration with the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons, is strongly preferred.
