The University of Calgary invites you to shape future nurses as a Sessional Nursing Instructor in Wainwright, Alberta for the Fall Semester 2026. Share your expertise in clinical practice and teaching with aspiring nursing students.
This role within the Faculty of Nursing focuses on teaching nursing courses applicable to rural settings. You will engage students through clinical and lab experiences while also contributing to essential faculty governance meetings. Knowledge in rural acute care, chronic care, or perinatal care practices will enhance student learning. Strong teaching abilities and effective mentorship are highly valued in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate onsite and remote clinical simulation activities • Lead groups of nursing students in diverse care settings • Attend faculty meetings and contribute to course governance • Assess and evaluate student performance effectively • Apply creative teaching strategies and foster evidence-based practices
Requirements: • Eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Nurses • BN/BScN degree or equivalent experience • Proven clinical teaching and mentoring skills • Experience in multiple clinical settings • Solid communication and collaboration abilities
