Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing care to clients as a member of a multidisciplinary team; is responsible and accountable for coordinating and administering direct client care utilizing the nursing process; provides direction to staff and volunteers; and responds to emergency situations to safeguard clients, visitors and staff in accordance with the unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and the BC College of Nurses and Midwives Standards for Nursing Practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training and Experience

Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant and two (2) years' recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education,



training and experience. Basic Life Support, Level C required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support for Emergency Room, ICU and Critical Care preferred. Valid BC Drivers License.

Apply the nursing process effectively in a well‑organized manner to the care of assigned patients.
Physically perform the duties of the position.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Remain calm and act appropriately in stressful and emergency situations.

Please note All RN positions at Cormorant Island Community Health Centre require Emergency Department experience.
