Position Summary

We are presently seeking a casual Recreation Therapy Worker to join our Recreation Therapy team at Gateby in Vernon, BC.

Your Role

As a Recreation Therapy Worker, you will be an essential member of our interdisciplinary care team, dedicated to enhancing the lives of our residents. In this role, you’ll deliver meaningful individual and group recreation therapy programs—ranging from music and arts to fitness, gardening, and cultural events—that support residents’ physical, social, emotional, and cognitive well‑being. You’ll also accompany residents on community outings, ensuring their comfort and safety, while helping create moments of joy and connection both inside and outside the facility.

Casual Employment Opportunities

This casual position offers adaptable work hours ranging from zero to 37.5 hours per week, with shifts available during the day and evening.

Gateby Care Facility in Vernon, BC, is a 75‑bed long‑term care home focused on resident‑centered care and quality of life. With private rooms across three floors, Gateby offers specialized dementia care, therapy services, recreation programs, and end‑of‑life support.

Qualifications
Grade 12
Completion of a recognized recreation course(s) plus two year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid class 4 vehicle license required.
