Job Description
Provide hands‑on physiotherapy and occupational therapy interventions under the guidance of a supervising therapist, assisting clients with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and activities of daily living (ADL) retraining.
Assist in training clients on adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and mobility aids to enhance independence and safety.
Monitor client progress, maintain accurate documentation, and report changes to the supervising PT/OT.
Educate clients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, equipment usage, and strategies for maintaining safety and independence.
Assess and maintain secure, comfortable home settings that support client health and well‑being.
Demonstrate compassionate, respectful care in all interactions while advocating for patient rights and participating in ongoing career development.
Qualifications
Certificate or Diploma in the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapy Assistant Program (Rehabilitation Assistant Certificate) from a recognized community college program.
Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and basic computer skills.
Current police check for work with the vulnerable sector.
Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
