Support families in their homes as a Families First Home Visitor with Southern Health-Santé Sud in Altona. Embrace a strength-based approach to foster healthy relationships and child development.
This temporary position at the Public Health Program focuses on assisting families with children aged 0-5, as well as prenatal families. The Home Visitor will collaborate closely with Public Health Nurses and employ an evidence-informed curriculum to enhance parenting skills. In addition, the role emphasizes cultural sensitivity while connecting families to community resources for optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct family-centered home visits to promote positive interactions
• Utilize evidence-informed practices to support child development
• Collaborate with public health professionals for effective guidance
• Assist families in exploring personal goals and cultural values
• Maintain documentation of visits and family progress
Requirements:
• One year of experience working with families with young children
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Certification in a related field is an asset
• Solid problem-solving and communication skills
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle
