As a co-op student at FortisBC, you’ll dive into the design and operation of natural gas facilities and pipelines. This role is aimed at third or fourth-year Mechanical or Chemical Engineering students enrolled in a co-op program. You will work closely with engineers and managers, performing site visits, technical reviews, and producing assessment reports to enhance the gas system operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review standard design practices for gas facilities
• Conduct site visits to understand the gas system
• Engage internal and external stakeholders for technical reviews
• Perform engineering assessments and identify deficiencies
• Recommend process improvements for compliance
Requirements:
• Enrolled in a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program
• Proficient in CAD, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Familiar with writing reports in corporate settings
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and P&ID;
• Valid BC driver’s license
