Job Overview
A Pavement Data Technician will support the Infrastructure Management and Pavement Engineering team in Waterloo, ON, by analyzing, reviewing, and ensuring the quality of pavement data across multiple platforms. Candidates should be adept at working with MS Access and Excel, and knowledge of GIS, SQL, or other programming languages is an asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and organizing field and spatial data to ensure quality and consistency
- Conducting pavement data quality control, including daily field data checks
- Preparing for field surveys, including route planning
- Processing pavement condition data: assets, images, distress, roughness, and GPS data
- Working with spatial data in ESRI ArcMap and writing queries in MS Access
- Coordinating with team members and project managers to assemble data packages
Qualifications and Capabilities
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail
- Proficiency with databases—working knowledge of MS Access, ArcMap, and MS Excel
- Experience or exposure to analytical data and databases
- Knowledge of FME software and/or programming experience is an asset
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Time‑management skills – ability to work under pressure with energetic deadlines
Education and Experience
- Diploma in an engineering field,
GIS, Database Management, or related technology course
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a technical role
- Experience in GIS and an interest in the engineering or consulting industry is considered an asset
Compensation
Pay Range: Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario - $50,100.00 - $67,600.00 Annually
