About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief and Medical Director for Anaesthesia to provide clinical, professional, operational, and strategic leadership within the department and the broader surgical program. This key role involves partnering with clinical and administrative leaders to uphold high standards of quality and patient safety, ensure effective medical staff oversight, and align with organizational priorities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in strengthening team culture, enhancing physician engagement, and advancing a cohesive vision for the department, particularly during a period of significant growth and transformation. Key responsibilities include advancing quality and patient safety,



supporting the recruitment and development of physicians, and contributing to the organization's academic, education, research, and innovation agenda.

Applicants for the Chief and Medical Director position must be experienced, inclusive, and visionary leaders with a background in medical leadership, clinical practice, strategy, and operations. The role requires a physician licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario or eligible for licensure, with certification in an anaesthesia specialty as recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent certification. The ideal candidate will be a recognized change leader, capable of engaging teams, navigating complexity, and leading change within a agile healthcare environment. The position also demands a commitment to collaboration, particularly across perioperative services, and a focus on the continued development of the surgical program in a coordinated, high-performing perioperative setting.
