This is a multi‑function role in a Business Centre reporting to the Business Centre Manager. The Operations Coordinator supports purchasing, logistics, inside sales and warehouse operations in a fast‑paced setting.
Main Responsibilities
- Purchasing & Vendor Management
- Assist in sourcing, purchasing, and order placement of materials and equipment
- Coordinate with suppliers on pricing, availability, and delivery timelines
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely receipt of goods
- Manage inventory write‑downs with the manager to minimize financial impact
- Analyze and correct inventory discrepancies quickly
- Evaluate new products and product lines with the Business Centre Manager and salespeople, and recommend them
- Maintain integrity of special SKU costs in the system and keep supplier data up‑to‑date
- Create new stock SKUs when needed
- Logistics & Inventory Coordination
- Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments
- Work with freight carriers and logistics partners to ensure cost‑effective delivery
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock replenishment planning
- Organize shipment paperwork for international shipments and cooperate with brokers for timely clearance
- Book pick‑ups for local and cross‑border shipments
- Obtain quotes and arrange shipments with freight forwarders
- Monitor shipments until final delivery
- Review freight invoices and resolve claims for damaged shipments
- Inside Sales Support
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide product/service information
- Prepare quotes, process sales orders, and follow up with customers
- Support the sales team with administrative and coordination tasks
- Warehouse Support
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and tracking inventory
- Ensure accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing materials
- Support periodic inventory counts and reconciliation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in operations, logistics, purchasing, or inside sales
- Robust organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); ERP experience is an asset
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills
- Experience in supply chain or distribution environments
- Familiarity with inventory management systems
- Customer service or inside sales experience
