As a Modeling Artist at Stellar, your day-to-day contributions will span asset creation, technical pipeline optimization, and cross-departmental collaboration. Success in this role is defined by the following core pillars:

1. Asset Creation & Optimization

- Production Translation: Confidently interpret and work directly from complex production designs and concept art to create a wide variety of high-fidelity digital assets, including hero characters, expansive sets, dynamic props, complex vehicles, and both organic and hard-surface elements.
- Pipeline Balance: Critically analyze pre-visualization materials and initial production designs to engineer highly optimized assets that perfectly balance stunning aesthetic beauty with the rigorous technical requirements of downstream production pipelines.
- Standard Elevation: Bring an infectious passion and relentless drive to elevate the show’s overall modeling standards to the absolute highest creative and technical level possible.

2. Technical Problem Solving & Pipeline Integration

- Efficient Tool Usage: Utilize your hands-on, deep working knowledge of Maya toolsets and supplementary software to build clean, efficient, and topologically sound geometry.
- Downstream Collaboration: Partner closely and communicate proactively with downstream departments—specifically Rigging and Surfacing (LookDev) —to anticipate, troubleshoot, and solve potential technical bottlenecks early in the pipeline before they impact production schedules.
- Topology & UV Management: Ensure all geometry is clean, clean-mesh compliant, properly unwrapped, and structured logically for rigging deformation and efficient texturing workflows.

3. Collaboration, Accountability & Mentorship

- Self-Driven Execution: Act as a self-motivated, task-driven professional who consistently meets team targets, milestone quotas, and tight production deadlines without constant oversight.
- Team Synergy: Be a team-oriented, positive team player who communicates openly, accepts constructive artistic feedback gracefully, and works seamlessly alongside Supervisors, Leads, and peers.
- Leadership (Senior Tier): Senior artists will be expected to actively help mentor, guide, and support junior artists, sharing technical knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Meeting Participation: Actively and constructively participate in team huddles, departmental syncs, pipeline reviews, and production screenings.

The Requirements: What We Are Looking For

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must meet the baseline requirements outlined below, tailored across our three experience tiers:

Experience Levels (Choose Your Tier)

- Junior Modeling Artist:
- 1 to 2+ years of professional production experience in animation, VFX, or games.
- A solid,



foundational grasp of Autodesk Maya and a strong portfolio demonstrating core modeling fundamentals.
- Eager to learn, absorb feedback, and grow within a fast-paced studio environment.

- Mid-Level Modeling Artist:

- 3 to 5+ years of professional production experience.
- Able to hit the ground running on day one, independently tackle complex asset creation, and require minimal supervision from leads.
- Proven track record of balancing artistic fidelity with technical constraints.

- Senior Modeling Artist:

- 5+ years of professional production experience.
- Recognized as an expert at building and optimizing the most complex hero assets (characters, vehicles, hard-surface sets).
- Adept at anticipating pipeline bottlenecks, designing master asset structures, and comfortable mentoring junior team members.

Core Must-Haves ::

- Artistic Eye: A highly refined, keen eye for form, silhouette, shape, scale, and texture, paired with flexible, “outside-the-box” creative problem-solving skills.
- Core Software Mastery: Solid, demonstrable understanding and hands-on professional experience with Autodesk Maya , ZBrush , and Adobe Photoshop .
- Professional Mindset: A growth-oriented, learning-centered attitude combined with a genuine passion for strong design aesthetics and robust technical execution.
