Key/National Sales Account Manager – Retail
As the Key/National Sales Account Manager – Retail, you will play a crucial role in growing and developing partnerships with existing customers. You will maintain current distribution points while expanding the product assortment by identifying and onboarding new growth areas. You must understand Refresco’s capabilities, develop strategies aligned with business objectives, and maximize topline growth and profit through efficient asset use and synergy creation with our distribution network.
Essential Job Functions
- Work as part of a highly motivated, dynamic sales team to drive the organization’s sales initiatives.
- Serve as primary customer contact for technical and business issues related to assigned and potential customers.
- Partner with customers whose brands align with our capacity and strategic fit, and develop a list of potential cutting-edge products.
- Develop synergies that capture critical data for the broader retail sales team.
- Coordinate with internal functions to onboard new items or expanded categories.
- Validate ongoing execution of supply‑chain processes, ensuring proper planning and inventory for raw materials and finished goods.
- Collaborate with Demand Planning and CPFR teams on forecast validation to meet internal requirements and work with customer replenishment teams.
- Provide ongoing analysis of customer performance relative to prior year, plan, and forecast.
- Assist the retail sales team in preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales projections and in forming the annual sales budget.
- Review KPIs and provide feedback or corrective action recommendations.
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers.
- Research and gather critical information to evaluate prospective customers.
- Understand legal terminology for developing customer supply agreements.
- Coordinate sales activities with marketing, sales management, finance, operations, logistics, and technical services.
- Expedite resolution of customer problems in cooperation with internal and external teams.
- Help develop a competitive‑landscape summary identifying advantages and gaps that could boost sales.
- Analyze shipment data to develop business‑planning strategies.
- Identify market trends within the total category.
- Maintain positive customer relationships to build trust.
- Take the lead in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Provide written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, and opportunities for new products or sales.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Outstanding sales and negotiation skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving ability and results orientation.
- Ability to work independently and within a team with excellent communication.
- Excellent organizational, time, and project management skills.
- Curiosity and the ability to analyze financial information related to costing, operations, P&L; modeling, and forecasting.
- Ability to travel for on‑site customer and team meetings as required (average 25‑40% of the time; may exceed 50%).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of progressive commercial experience with a CPG company or retailer.
- Experience and knowledge of supply‑chain and manufacturing operations.
- Private Label experience required.
Working Conditions
- Physical: Continuous sitting; occasional tours of manufacturing facilities.
- Visual/Sensory: Attention to detail is required.
- Work Environment: Fast‑paced; ability to remain focused under pressure.
- Mental Stress: Pressure from deadlines, project management, and accuracy demands.
Travel Requirements
- Travel will average 25‑40% of the time; may exceed 50% at times.

Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $119,535 – $142,488 CAD, plus eligibility for performance‑based bonuses.
