Role Description

The Machining and Tooling Inspector is a full time, on-site role based in Kitchener, ON. This role is responsible for inspecting machined stone components and tooling used in countertop fabrication to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include measuring and verifying dimensions, checking surface finishes, confirming alignment and fit, and documenting inspection results. The inspector will collaborate with machine operators and production staff to identify defects, recommend corrective actions, and help maintain consistent production quality. Additional duties may include calibrating and maintaining inspection tools, supporting continuous improvement initiatives,



and adhering to all safety and operational procedures in the workshop.

Qualifications

- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and fabrication methods used in stone fabrication.
- Proficiency with measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and templates for dimensional inspection.
- Experience working with CNC routers and CNC bridge saws.
- Knowledge of quality control principles, inspection procedures, and documentation practices.
- Attention to detail, ability to identify defects, and commitment to maintaining high workmanship standards.
- Ability to work safely in a shop environment, including proper handling of tools, equipment, and heavy materials.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with production, installation, and management teams in English.
- Previous experience in CNC tool setup, tooling inspection, inventory management, quality assurance, or a related trade is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification in machining, quality inspection, or industrial technology is an advantage.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift moderate weights as part of daily duties.
