About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Registrar to lead its independent, not-for-profit regulatory body. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic, operational, and regulatory leadership, with a strong focus on enhancing the safety, well-being, and protection of residents in licensed retirement homes. This role involves overseeing the organization's performance, financial stewardship, risk management, and execution of the strategic plan. As the Registrar, the CEO will also have statutory accountability for regulatory decision-making, including licensing, compliance, enforcement, and inspections, all aimed at supporting resident protection and strengthening public trust in the regulatory role.
The ideal candidate for this position is an accomplished senior executive with a proven track record in leading complex, mission-driven organizations, particularly within regulated, public-interest, or public-sector environments. They must possess robust business and financial acumen, a sound knowledge of governance and board relations, and experience in interpreting legislation and exercising sound judgment in a regulatory context. The role requires a leader with exceptional communication, government relations, and stakeholder management skills, who is adept at advancing risk-based regulation and is motivated by a genuine commitment to resident well-being. The CEO will work closely with the Board, the Ministry, and other stakeholders to ensure the organization delivers resident-centered, data-informed outcomes in the public interest.
