Overview

This is a unique role that requires a physically fit individual to perform administrative tasks, general warehouse duties, be competent driving reach trucks, and experienced in safely using material handling equipment. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical to success in this role.

The incumbent will assist with jointly responsible for the shipping and receiving of products including high-security and serialized materials, tracking shipments of orders, distribution of departmental mail, organization of stock, cyclic inventory counts and reconciliation of all materials, general warehouse duties, and answering client inquiries over the phone, e-mail or in person as required.

Responsibilities

- Accurately pick, pack and ship all orders within 24-48 hours of receipt or within established service level time frames, demonstrating strong attention to detail
- Physically fit — able to consistently lift boxes weighing 35 lbs and able to be on feet lifting, bending, reaching, following OHS safety guidelines and procedures
- Safely operate a Reach Truck and other material handling equipment in a controlled warehouse workplace, using PPE
- Ability to work independently as well as a strong team player
- Able to problem solve and use sound judgement
- Ability to use solid verbal and written communication skills when communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing workloads and priorities
- Strong computer skills, able to type accurately at least 35 wpm
- Possess robust attention to detail and accurately enter numbers into databases, recording sequence ranges
- Proficiency with data entry and ability to locate information in databases
- Maintain and update 'Shipping Manager' database and MOVES daily for details about every shipment, with strong attention to detail (accurately recording way bill numbers, number of parcels, date shipped, serialized ranges and special instructions for every order)
- Coordinate bulk distribution of orders as required
- Receive stock, verify quantities received and provide packing slip and copies of the materials to the Senior Customer Service Advisor for receiving within 24 hours of receipt of product being delivered
- Inventory management and warehouse organization including stock replenishments on a regular basis and rotation of stock in a FIFO rotation
- Participate in the Warehouse OHS Joint Health and Safety Committee, and conduct warehouse safety inspections

Working Hours / Location





- Standard Hours of work are 8:15 to 4:30 with a 1 hour lunch break Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the Province.
- Standard Background check required.
- The Supplier shall, prior to commencement of the Services, provide the Province, on its request and at no cost to the Province, with criminal record checks level 1 that needs to be completed by the Edmonton Police Services or RCMP.
- Must also provide a valid driver's license, in good standing order.

Mandatory Training Courses

- Once hired the resource will be required to complete all mandatory training which includes but not limited to Protection of Privacy Training, Information Management, Cybersecurity, and Respect in the Workplace. There may also be other mandatory and/or optional training.
- OHS awareness training - online module
- In-person interviews are estimated to be conducted between April 10-15, 2026.

Contract / Equipment

- Refer to the Job Posting attachments for the proposed form of contract applicable to this Contingent Resource Request
- Equipment requirements: In the event that the Contracted Resource is directed to work in-person, the Province shall provide the requisite office space, furniture, office supplies, computers and software and ensure access to the Government of Alberta's system. The resource must supply their own CSA approved safety boots and wear them at all times when performing duties in the warehouse.
- The fixed rate quoted must be inclusive of all overhead, office space and equipment, including supplies, administrative burden, mark-up, and all other costs to perform the Services for the duration of the Contract.
