Our Toronto based client is seeking an experiencedSAP Device Management Consultant to join their project on a long term contract.
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience withSAP Device Management along with project implementations in a consultant capacity or related roles.
This will be a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the SAP IS-U Device Management solution for a brownfield utilities transformation: define and configure technical master data (device categories/info records, registers), installation structure (connection object, premise, installation), device lifecycle (install/remove/exchange), and meter reading processes.
Architect and govern integrations with AMI/MDUS/MDM and EDM: inbound reads/events, VEE, interval data, remote connect/disconnect, outage flags; ensure seamless downstream integration to Billing/Invoicing, FI-CA, EAM/field work, and mobile.
Define transition/coexistence and cutover strategy: phased rollouts, dual read-source handling, device exchange programs,
serial number control, historical read alignment, parallel bill impacts, and legacy decommissioning.
Drive design workshops and backlog; produce/oversee functional specs for interfaces/enhancements; ensure robust error handling (e.g., EMMA), exception management, performance, and security/role design.
Own data migration and reconciliation for technical master and measurement data: cleansing, mapping, conversion rules, validation, and sign-off; coordinate end-to-end SIT/UAT and volume/performance testing from head-end through billing.
Provide leadership and governance across vendors/squads; establish monitoring/observability and KPIs; ensure regulatory/compliance adherence; mentor team members.
Preferred: 8+ years IS-U DM/MDM/EDM with AMI integrations and prior brownfield experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
