In the role of Civil Construction Inspector, Rail , we''ll count on you to: Provide inspection and construction supervision on Class 1 railway projects Maintain accurate daily diary entries and completion of contract documentation records Maintain daily photographic records,



and videos as necessary to document contract activities Complete site surveys of completed works for tracking item and material quantities for payment Complete daily inspections in accordance to client requirements and expectations Monitoring construction work is in accordance to contract documents and specifications Report to the Project Manager onsite activities, concerns, and non-conformances, and provide recommendations for resolution Provide mentorship to junior staff Liaise with client representatives, as required Act as client site representative Requires working nights, weekends, and extended shifts Work may be seasonal in nature, as work permits Other duties as assigned.

The role of Civil Construction Inspector, Rail isacasual, temporary, as-needed position.

There will not be a set schedule but will be notified when we have work available.

Preferred Qualifications Post-secondary degree/diploma in Civil Engineering and/or relevant experience Minimum 5 years experience with engineering or construction Previous experience working with Metrolinx, CN Rail, and CP Rail projects Previous experience working on municipal or provincial transportation projects would be as assist, but not required Be able to read and interpret construction design drawings Ability to work in a team environment and independently in remote locations Excellent communication skills Emergency First Aid & CPR Certification considered an asset Valid drivers (Class G) license with an acceptable driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.

Required Qualifications Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma) A minimum of 3 years experience Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
