Responsibilities

- Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
- Respond to basic warranty calls.
- Provide customers with a high level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
- Load system‑level controller software.
- Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.) and complete all required commissioning documentation.
- Keep management, JCI contractor, or customer informed of job progress and issues.
- Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
- Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation.
- Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
- Maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Qualifications

- 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field,



or at least 2 years of industry experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems.
- General knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls ethically and professionally to customers and other contacts.
- Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical people.
- Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical building automation equipment on a job site.
- PC experience and the ability to program HVAC‑related software.

Compensation

Hourly rate range: $29 – $39, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and market data. This position includes a competitive perks package.
