We are seeking a senior GIS and Utility Network leader to provide strategic architecture oversight for a large-scale utility modernization program. This role is focused on enterprise architecture, integration strategy, governance, risk management, and technical advisory services rather than hands-on GIS development.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to program stakeholders, helping guide technology decisions, evaluate implementation approaches, and ensure alignment across GIS, operational technology, and enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and design decisions for Utility Network initiatives.
- Advise on GIS data models, Utility Network design, migration strategies, and future-state architecture.
- Assess technical risks and provide recommendations to mitigate program, integration, and implementation challenges.
- Conduct architecture reviews, quality assurance checkpoints, and technical governance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex GIS and utility-system integration issues.
- Evaluate and guide integrations between GIS platforms and adjacent utility technologies, including:
- IQGeo
- ADMS
- OMS
- DERMS
- Work Management Platforms
- Mobile and Field Solutions
- Provide independent review and oversight of vendor recommendations, implementation decisions, and architectural approaches.
- Participate in governance forums, steering committees, and stakeholder discussions to support strategic decision-making.
- Define target-state architecture and integration roadmaps that support long-term business objectives.
Qualifications
- Experience in GIS architecture, enterprise architecture, or utility technology leadership.
- Deep expertise with Utility Network solutions within electric and/or gas utility environments.
- Solid experience with IQGeo platforms and implementations.
- Proven experience integrating GIS solutions with utility systems such as ADMS, OMS, DERMS, SAP EAM, Maximo, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, data migration, and system modernization programs.
- Experience providing technical leadership, governance, or advisory services on complex utility transformation initiatives.
- Ability to communicate effectively with executives, program leaders, vendors, architects, and business stakeholders.
- Subject matter expertise within the utility industry.
