In this role, you'll serve Indigenous learners by providing holistic advising that fosters engagement and persistence in their studies. Collaborating with a network of faculty, Knowledge Keepers, and community partners, you will help address academic, financial, and cultural challenges. Your mission is to create a nurturing environment that empowers students to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver holistic advising to enhance retention and completion
• Identify and address barriers to student success
• Facilitate transition points like orientation and onboarding
• Create culturally safe and engaging programs for students
• Maintain accurate records and track engagement outcomes
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Indigenous Studies, Social Work, or similar
• 2-3 years experience with Indigenous communities
• Robust communication and empathy skills
• Ability to coordinate effectively across diverse partners
• Commitment to promoting reconciliation and continuous learning
