We are currently hiring a Health and Safety Assistant for our Health, Safety & Environmental department. The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a post‑secondary education in the occupational health and safety field. As the Health and Safety Assistant, you will utilize your excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills to assist the Senior Manager in performing a variety of administrative tasks from maintaining safety shoe and training databases to assisting with report compilation.



This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a passion for health and safety and wants to gain valuable experience in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities Collect and compile data and assists in preparing environmental and safety related reports. Assist in coordinating training and other health and safety related programs as needed. Updating and maintaining safety related tracking system. Answer employee inquiries about health and safety policies, procedures, and programs. Provide support for other health and safety related projects. Additional administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a registered post‑secondary co‑op program in Health and Safety or a similar field. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills. Strong computer skills to navigate the Physical Demands Analysis software program. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally in all written and verbal communications. A team player who is also able to work independently with minimum supervision. Physical Effort Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day‑to‑day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs.



Work Environment Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of everyday expected levels (all jobs will occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events).
