Mechanical

Engineer focuses on the design and engineering ofHVAC and mechanicalutilitiesfor buildings.

Typical tasks and deliverables includeload calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, design reports, code evaluations, plans, schedules, installation details,equipment and system selection and specification, and coordination with manufacturers and trade partners.

Tasks willalsoinclude utilizing software for building information modeling,computer-aided drafting and engineering calculations.

Project workwill beunder the direction of a more experienced engineer andmayincludeall levels of design such as studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, constructiondocumentation and construction administration.

Responsibilities Interfaceswith clientsand external partners Design mechanical systems(airside, chilled water,condenser water,heating hot water, steam, natural gas,compressed air, etc.)of basic complexity in conformance with code requirements and in coordination with other design disciplines Preparation of design and construction deliverables Performs envelope and load calculations, pressure drop calculations,and other engineering calculations of basic complexity as required to confirm project requirements are met Conducts basic field investigations to integrate the design with existing systems and structures.

Worksclosely with other architects, engineers and designers, as well as other internal and external team members to ensure a coordinated, constructible and complete design Self-checksones own work Attends professional development activities Utilizes various platforms to execute work,



such as Microsoft Office products, Bluebeam Revu,and available BIM software May work on one or more projects simultaneously as directed by a supervisor Qualifications ABET-accredited Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineeringor

Architectural Engineering(with a mechanical focus) 0 to 3 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting Preferred Qualifications Proficiencyin

Revitand AutoCAD Fundamentals of Engineering exam registration or completion LEED, WELL or other sustainable design accreditation or pursuitor, experience with sustainable design Fundamental experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing HVAC, mechanical utility and piping systems designs Fundamental experience conducting field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting Proficient with fundamental internal cross-discipline project team coordination Additional Information We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
