We are hiring a General Laborer in Mississauga, Ontario! Job Description This role supports a leading custom casting manufacturer specializing in architectural ceiling products.

You will work on the day shift in either the general casting area or the spraying department, using hand and power tools to help produce high-quality castings in a quick-paced manufacturing environment.

The position involves physical work, working in a dusty environment around fiberglass, and following detailed instructions and blueprints to ensure accurate and safe production.

Responsibilities Assist with general casting or spraying activities on the day shift, following production plans and instructions.

Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to support casting, construction, manufacturing, or renovation-related tasks.

Handle and move materials, molds, and finished products, including lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.

Work in a dusty environment and around fiberglass while following all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.

Read and follow blueprints or work instructions to ensure accurate measurements and proper assembly or casting.

Support mold making, cementing, and fiberglass-related tasks, including wearing a respirator or N95 mask when required.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools, materials, and equipment.

Follow all health and safety procedures, including wearing steel-toe footwear, protective coveralls, safety glasses, and respiratory protection when necessary.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and maintain a high level of product quality.

Participate in overtime opportunities when available, including occasional Saturday work or extended shifts as needed.

Essential Skills Experience using hand and power tools in a construction, manufacturing, or renovation environment.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift. ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding setting.

Ability to read and follow blueprints or detailed work instructions.

Comfort working in a very dusty environment.

Comfort working around fiberglass and associated odors.

Willingness and ability to wear a respirator or N95 mask when required.

Previous experience working in a dusty environment.

Experience working around fiberglass.

Painting experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in construction, manufacturing, or renovation work.

The role is on a day shift schedule, running from 7:30 . to 3:45 ., Monday to Friday.

Employees receive one unpaid 30-minute lunch break and one paid 15-minute break, and they typically leave 15 minutes early instead of taking a second 15-minute break.

Overtime is voluntary, often available at the end of shifts or on Saturdays, and is paid after 40 hours per week.

Personal protective equipment is mandatory and includes steel-toe footwear that covers the ankle, protective coveralls worn over regular clothing, and safety glasses, all of which are provided or supported by the company.

Once permanent, employees receive overalls and can join a laundry service.

Certain departments, such as mold making, cementing, and fiberglass, require the use of a respirator or N95 mask, which the company provides as part of its commitment to safety.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MISSISSAUGA, ON.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
