Senior Manager, Hardware Integration Kitchener, Ontario Hybrid Join Sonovas Research & Development organization and lead the Kitchener Hardware Integration team as we develop the next generation of innovative hearing solutions.

As Senior Manager, Hardware Integration, you will oversee new and sustaining product-development programs from initial concept through stable volume production.

Working closely with systems architects and multidisciplinary teams across Sonovas global organization, you will guide the development, integration, and verification of electronics, electroacoustic, RF, PCB, and transducer technologies used in hearing instruments.

Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and develop the Kitchener Hardware Integration team, covering both people-leadership and process-owner responsibilities.

Oversee new and sustaining hardware-development programs from initial concept and prototyping through verification, regulatory approval, and stable volume production.

Manage the development, integration, and verification of in-the-ear hardware systems, including electroacoustic systems, PCB designs, RF technologies, and transducers.

Partner with systems architects to develop future technical concepts for implementation in hearing-instrument products.

Serve as the primary local R&D; contact for regulatory matters related to product specifications, hardware validation, performance, and compliance.

Ensure hearing-aid systems are evaluated against applicable international standards and medical-device regulatory requirements.

Lead the technical design and prototyping of innovative, reliable, and cost-effective electroacoustic and RF systems.





Support intellectual-property submissions and patent-screening activities, including serving as a Technical Patent Expert for hardware when required.

Support field trials and competitive-device analysis in partnership with the ITE Systems Architect.

Allocate resources based on team capacity, project priorities, technical competencies, and business needs.

Collaborate across multiple global sites and cross-disciplinary teams to ensure critical project deliverables are achieved.

Manage recruitment, performance development, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning for the team.

Travel occasionally based on project and business needs.

More about you: Bachelors degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electroacoustics, or a closely related engineering field.

At least 5 years of experience managing and mentoring a hardware development and verification team.

Experience working within a medical-device R&D; environment is strongly preferred.

Solid understanding of electronics, electrical engineering, electroacoustic systems, RF engineering, PCB design, transducers, and hardware verification.

Solid understanding of the medical-device regulatory landscape, international standards, and product-development documentation requirements.





Demonstrated project-management skills, including resource planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery of complex technical programs.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple global sites and cross-disciplinary teams.

Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, interpersonal, judgment, and decision-making skills.

Experience with patent screening or intellectual-property support is a strong asset.
