Hours of work to be 85 hours per month (2 days one week; 3 days second week)** Under the general direction of the Administrator, Rideaucrest, the Supervisor, Food Services, is responsible for the day to day supervision and operations of the Food Services division at Rideaucrest Home.

This position ensures the adherence of Public Health requirements and effective and efficient customer service delivery.

The Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to a team of Cooks and Dietary Aides.

What you''ll do...

Supervise all aspects of food service operations including inventory control, food storage and the effective and efficient preparation and delivery of residents meals Plan menus in consultation with the Nutrition Supervisor, considering input from residents and staff in compliance with provincial long-term care legislation related to dietary standards, as well as with other relevant legislation and to meet the nutritional needs of residents Provide direction, supervision and performance management to Food Services staff; assist with recruitment, grievance administration, investigations and complaint resolution; be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of residents and employees including: accident/incident investigations and tracking for completion, safety standards adherence, development, training and communication, complete risk assessments to understand risk points, develop key safety standards,



and support the implementation of safety systems Formulate and administer the preparation of the annual operating budget and maintain food and other departmental costs within budget; ensure the department adheres to relevant legislation and corporate standards Consult with residents, families, and professionals in relation to resident care needs and department activities Other duties as assigned To qualify, you''ll need...

Degree/diploma/Certificate in Food Service or a related field 3-5 years of recent and relevant supervisory experience in food service or diet management (preferably in a unionized environment) is required Long Term Care experience preferred Canadian Society of Nutrition Management membership Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong, effective customer service and interpersonal skills Advanced computer skills including MS Office Strong and effective problem solving skills Strong organizational skills and with the ability to prioritize work in a demanding environment Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop employee to achieve success Demonstrated conflict management skills and methods to reduce tension or conflict between two or more people Ability to research, analyze, and formulate solutions to complex issues Proficient knowledge of related policies, procedures, legislation and initiatives Proof of recent screening for Tuberculosis (TB) Proof of immunity to communicable diseases Must demonstrate corporate values of Belonging, Collaboration, Accountability, and Innovation Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check, including vulnerable sector Why us?
