Evertz is seeking a hands-on Lab Engineer to support the development of networking devices in Markham, Ontario. This on-site role focuses on managing cabling, maintaining hardware, and enhancing CI/CD processes.
As a Lab Engineer, you will be integral to Evertz’s networking device development team, ensuring efficient operations in the lab environment. Key tasks include organizing audio, video, and fiber optic cabling, troubleshooting connectivity, and supporting CI infrastructure with Python and Bash. Your expertise will directly contribute to creative broadcasting technology.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and manage network and audio/video cabling
• Rewire devices as per engineering requests and project needs
• Install and decommission lab devices including switches and servers
• Troubleshoot and manage optical transceivers installation
• Maintain an accurate database of devices and inventories
Requirements:
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 1-2 years experience with Python and Bash scripting
• Understanding of networking concepts and cabling structures
• Familiarity with audio/video connectors and transceivers
• Comfortable in hands-on lab environments
