Summary of Duties

Reporting to the Superintendent, Waterfront Operations, the Trolley Driver operates the Trolley following a designated route and time schedule, and is responsible for safely transporting passengers to and from designated points along the Hamilton Waterfront Trail.

General Duties

- Safely operate the Trolley following the designated route and time schedule.
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the trolley to ensure it is in good working order.
- Answer passengers’ questions and provide additional information as requested.
- Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, and any other needs they may require.
- Promote the waterfront’s services and encourage passengers to provide feedback and reviews.
- Maintain a clean and orderly trolley interior.
- Work in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and City policies related to Occupational Health and Safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned that are directly related to major responsibilities of the job.

Qualifications

- Must have valid class "C" driver’s license to operate a trolley. Previous demonstrated experience as a bus driver is an asset.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Excellent driving skills, including the ability to maneuver a large vehicle safely in various road and weather conditions.




- Ability to make sound decisions during stressful situations.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Possess and maintain current certification in "Standard" First Aid with CPR Level "C" or be able to obtain within 60 days of employment. Certification must be issued by a training agency recognized by the Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB). Provide proof of certification upon assessment.

Hours: 0 - 24 per week.

NOTE: As a condition of employment, the successful applicant(s) will be required to obtain a satisfactory Criminal Records Check (CRC) at their own expense, prior to beginning work in this location.
