Marmon Industrial Water is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our New Equipment group.
The ideal candidate possesses the knowledge, skills and experience required to design and detail custom process equipment.
Marmon Industrial Water designs and manufactures water and wastewater treatment equipment solutions, under the brand names Graver Water Systems and Ecodyne.
Our technologies include raw water pretreatment, filtration, ion exchange, demineralization, degasification, hot lime softening, boiler make-up, condensate polishing, wastewater treatment, cooling, and oil/water separation for markets such as petrochemical/chemical, power generation and heavy industrial plants.
Overall Responsibilities: Develop 3D piping layouts for skid mounted process equipment from P&ID; drawings, while working with piping codes and client specifications.
Produce structural skid detail drawings for fabrication.
Produce pipe spool detail drawings for fabrication.
Develop various bill of materials and lists for piping materials and valves.
Support team members & projects from other departments as required.
Previous experience with Solid
Works software required.
Interface regularly with other disciplines,
while reporting to the Mechanical Design Supervisor Qualifications, Skills, Competencies: 510 years Mechanical engineering design experience using Solid
Works.
Experience with design and modelling/drafting process equipment and piping.
Technical competence in process equipment design, with robust attention to detail.
Ability to prepare detailed equipment models from P&IDs; and client specifications.
Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment.
Ability to plan and properly organize workflow to meet varying workload demands and adapt to changing and competing priorities.
Problem solving skills, accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
Experience with MS office software including Excel.
Preferred: Experience with water treatment equipment design/drafting.
Experience with B31.3 and/or B31.1 piping codes.
Experience with structural steel design/drafting.
Experience with SMAP3D in Solidworks
Ability to review engineering documents and specifications, to recognize important or unusual requirements and to incorporate these into design.
Ability to work independently to establish priorities, exercise judgment, and meet deadlines.
