Every day, the work that we do transforms the lives of people with mental illness through specialized mental healthcare, advocacy, research and education Secure Treatment Unit The Secure Treatment Unit provide specialized evidence-based assessment and treatment, including using the Risk Needs Responsivity Model of rehabilitation.

The programs include, Assessment and Stabilization Unit, Sexual Behaviours Unit,Trauma Disorders Unit,and Aggressive Behaviour Modulation Unit.

All units include a range of psychosocial rehabilitation modules that address individual mental health and criminogenic needs.

Treatment focuses on mental health recovery and targeting criminogenic needs to facilitate successful community reintegration and reduce recidivism (reoffending).





Qualifications Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario Up to 3 months Nursing Experience Knowledge of mental health/addiction issues Clear understanding of MHA and relevant legislation Able to demonstrate knowledge and skill in psychiatric nursing practice as articulated in the Canadian Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Practice.

Knowledge of mental health/addiction issues with specific knowledge about physical/medical compilations related to mental health and addictions Able to meet the standards of nursing practice of the College of Nurses CPR certification within the last 12 months (BCLS at a minimum) Evidence of continuing skilled education Effective verbal and written communications skills Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills Problem solving, leadership and management skills in responding to complex and rapidly changing situations Sensitivity, skills and experience working with diverse individuals and communities English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression.

Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.

Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing Recognized leadership skills with the ability to build the inter-disciplinary team approach to delivery interventions Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a professional inter-disciplinary treatment team Salary Range: 41.15to 58.98 per hour
