We currently have exciting Casual opportunities for Pharmacy Assistants IA to join our teams at Crosstown Clinic, Downtown Community Health Centre and Hope to Health Centre located in Vancouver, BC . Community pharmacy experience or interest, working with marginalized Mental Health and Substance Use populations is required.

Detailed Overview

Under the general supervision of the Coordinator, Pharmacy Services or designate, assists with medication dispensing by measuring, non‑sterile compounding, packaging, and distributing medications. Maintains stock levels and performs clerical duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

- Receive, sort, count, measure, and fill both patient‑specific and non‑patient‑specific medication containers. Assist in the distribution of medications to patient care units and maintain appropriate records.
- Compound non‑sterile pharmaceutical products according to established protocols.
- Repackage medications into unit‑of‑use format and maintain records.
- Maintain appropriate quantities of wardstock medications and validate accuracy of selections by other staff.
- Maintain pharmacy department inventory and wardstock quantities for non‑controlled and controlled medications.
- Identify outdated drugs to be returned or destroyed based on lot expiry dates.
- Maintain department work areas by ensuring tidiness and order. Stock pharmaceuticals, labels, containers,



and glassware in accordance with procedures and standards.
- Perform related clerical duties such as answering telephone calls, filing, and maintaining medication and prescription records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience

Grade 12, graduation from a recognized Pharmacy Assistant course or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills And Abilities

- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to type.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
