Math Teacher/Tutor Wanted — Motivated by mathematics? Excited by equations? Eager to help students succeed in math?
Oxford Learning West Vancouver is seeking part-time teacher-tutors for our learning centre. This position is ideal for someone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build math skills. This is an in-person role; relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Position Details
- Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Teaching in-person, using Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Filling in post-lesson notes
- Completing daily student communication updates
- Maintaining a friendly and qualified manner at all times
Responsibilities
- You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the responsibilities listed above
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field (mathematics, education, engineering, or sciences)
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification an asset
- Strong knowledge of the current Grades 1-12 math curriculum
- Experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 1 to 12 level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Salary: $20 - $25 / hour

- Afternoons & Early Evenings
- Monday to Friday
