**Position Description**
As the largest children's hospital in Canada,
we provide highly specialized surgical care for a very diverse population.
With 16 operating theatres, members of our nursing team are able to work in all the major surgical services in addition to developing expertise in paediatric care.
We are looking for nurses who are passionate about paediatric care, and are interested in becoming operating room nurses.
Successful candidates will be required to complete a perioperative program of study during the initial phase of their employment.
As a
**Registered Nurse in the Operating Room,**
you will provide family-centered nursing care to children during the perioperative phase of care.
You will assess the nursing needs and provide care to support children and families as they experience illness and the response of treatment.
You will work closely with the diverse interdisciplinary team to ensure the patient gets the best care possible through the surgical journey.

**Here's What You'll Need**
Graduate of an approved Baccalaureate Nursing Program
**Completion of an operating room nursing program (required).
For Registered Nurses without OR experience, the program must be completed as part of hiring process.**
Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
Experience working with children is a strongly preferred but not mandatory
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proven Problem solving and organizational skills
Ability to work under minimal direction
Demonstrated initiative and ability to be self-directed as well as an effective team player
Commitment to continuous learning, improvement, and evidence-based practice.
