• Analyze recovery files and establish the theory of the case to ensure the validity of any potential subrogation action
• Gather all relevant documentation and information for the recovery process and assist claims adjusters in collecting evidence and information necessary for potential recovery
• Communicate with mutual insurance companies to perform regular follow-ups on their recovery files
• Initiate contact, conduct regular follow-ups and negotiate satisfactory settlements with third parties or their insurers in recovery files
• When necessary and with authorization from the mutual insurer, instruct the litigation team to pursue legal proceedings
• Compile data and keep recovery tracking files up to date

Requirements
- Law degree (Bachelor of Laws or equivalent)
- Positive knowledge of civil law and insurance contracts
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Autonomy and resourcefulness
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills
- Experience in a recovery/collections department,
civil litigation or insurance law – an asset
- Member of the Barreau du Québec (Quebec Bar) – an asset
