Salary: $36.50 per hour
Hours: 30 to 35 hours per week (night shifts needed as part of the schedule)
Work Setting: On‑site

Job Description

The Tow Truck Driver is responsible to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

- Drive and operate tow trucks to move vehicles that are damaged or not working to repair shops, impound lots, or other designated locations.
- Attach and secure vehicles to tow trucks using chains, straps, winches, or other towing equipment to prevent damage.
- Respond to roadside assistance requests and service calls from dispatchers or customers.
- Perform pre‑trip, en route, and post‑trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, time logs, and mileage.
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers using communication devices.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure the safety of passengers and vehicles during towing operations.
- Perform minor roadside repairs such as changing flat tires,



jump‑starting batteries, or unlocking vehicles.
- Follow safety procedures and traffic laws while operating the tow truck.
- Keep the tow truck clean and in good working condition, and report any mechanical issues.

Qualification and Professional Skills Requirement

Experience:

- At least 7 months of previous experience in the position or a related position.

Education:

- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Licenses:

- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Valid TSSEA Tow license.

Skills & Attributes

- Well‑organized and skilled approach to customer service.
- Robust customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
- Mechanical knowledge to handle basic vehicle issues like jump‑starts and tire changes.
- Familiarity with automotive repair is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in high‑pressure situations.
- Fluent in English and strong verbal and non‑verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Organized, flexible, reliable, and effective interpersonal skills.
- Fast‑paced environment, working under pressure with tight deadlines.
