WCL is hiring a skilled Tractor Backhoe Operator for underground water and sewer construction. Contribute to projects with a strong focus on safety and efficiency in equipment operation.
This role requires a knowledgeable operator with over 3 years of experience in heavy civil construction. You will be responsible for running backhoes, compacting soil around utilities, and supporting aggregate work. Familiarity with trench safety guidelines is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate backhoe equipment for underground construction tasks
• Compact clay effectively around existing utilities
• Perform inspections and regular maintenance on equipment
• Support crew operations with material organization
• Maintain safety standards around live utilities and job sites
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in heavy civil or underground construction
• Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• WHMIS & CSTS 2020 certification required or willingness to obtain
• Solid understanding of trench safety practices
• Dependable and committed to teamwork
