The Role

AMD Serdes Technology Group develops high‑performance electrical and optical transceivers in advanced CMOS PDKs. We are seeking an expert in analog/mixed‑signal circuit design and architecture.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advanced ultra‑high‑speed electrical and/or optical PHY architect. She/He needs to be a self‑starter who collaborates well with various functional teams and customers to successfully drive projects to completion.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead transceiver micro‑architecture definition, modeling, simulation, implementation, and verification: Tx DSP and Rx DSP, CDR, adaptation and calibration loops
- Mentor junior engineers in implementation tasks to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and milestones
- Conduct peer reviews of design and verification results

Preferred Experience





- Architecture lead role for 100 GBPS or higher transceiver
- Proven silicon success 100GBPS or higher transceiver
- Model and spec analog circuit impairments and fixed‑point micro‑architecture for optimal PPA
- Top‑level and block‑level electrical/optical link budgeting and modeling
- Work with pre‑tapeout verification and post‑silicon validation teams to bring up silicon and analyze volume productization data

Academic Credentials

- Ph.D. in electrical engineering or related fields of industrial experience or M.S. plus relevant industrial experience in optical and/or electrical transceiver design
- Excellent communication and documentation skills are required.
