Lab Patient Technician

Temporary, part‑time position (6‑month contract). Flexibility required to work Sunday‑Saturday, 7:15 am‑6:00 pm, across North York, Scarborough and Durham.

Responsibilities

- Greet patients, gather required information, and explain specimen collection procedures.
- Perform phlebotomies, connect and disconnect Holter monitors, and conduct ECG tracings.
- Collect special test specimens (medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, clinical trials) and complete related documentation.
- Maintain client relationships, respond to inquiries, and follow up on requests.
- Enter patient demographics, requisition data, and other processing information into the system.
- Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.

Qualifications

- Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent (preferred).
- Phlebotomy experience is an asset.
- ECG training or experience is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer proficiency with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
- Strong customer/patient service skills, empathy,



flexibility, adaptability, and problem‑solving ability.
