The Opportunity Reporting to the Manager, Rehabilitation Services, and supported by the Medical Director, Rehabilitation Services, the Clinical Leader, Tertiary Ambulatory Rehabilitation Teams works as part of an interdisciplinary team providing tertiary-level services to children and youth across the Maritimes, in a Family-Centred Care Environment.

The Clinical Leader supports the efficient and effective operation of tertiary ambulatory rehabilitation services, which include Rehab Clinic, Specialty Seating and Mobility, Assistive Technology, and Rehabilitation Psychology Assessment Services, by assisting with the planning, organization, and directing of clinical care consistent with the philosophy, objectives, and vision of the Rehabilitation service and IWK Health.

Services may be individual or group-based and are provided in clinic or community-based settings.

The Clinical Leader fosters the development of an setting in which the desired outcome of all activities is the enhancement of patient care while demonstrating strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.

The Clinical Leader role supports staff orientation, coaching, and professional development for clinicians across the service and is dedicated to advancing evidence-based practice and knowledge translation within tertiary ambulatory rehab services.

The Clinical Leader works closely with other leaders across the childrens rehabilitation portfolio to plan and coordinate services.





The Clinical Leader will work with team members to identify and meet the learning needs of both newly hired clinicians and tertiary ambulatory rehabilitation services clinicians where practice may be changing due to new operational requirements or implementation of new or changing evidence-based practices.

Hours of Work Monday to Friday, 75 hours bi-weekly Your Qualifications Degree in a health-related field from any healthcare-related background at a Master''s level, or a graduate of a World Federation of Occupational Therapy (WFOT) approved Occupational Therapy Program Registered or eligible for registration with the appropriate professional body in Nova Scotia required Minimum 5 years clinical experience working in childrens rehabilitation services Minimum 2 years leadership or clinical supervision experience preferred Demonstrates understanding of and the ability to implement the LEADS competencies of Leads Self, Engaging Others, Achieves Results, Developing Coalitions, and Systems Transformation.

Demonstrated knowledge and ability to critically analyze a continuum of evidence-based, evidence-informed, and/or emerging evidence and promising practices across the service Demonstrated ability to initiate and support practice change/new practices and supports change through coaching/mentoring Demonstrated understanding and experience implementing quality improvement methodologies to support efficient and effective practice Excellent interpersonal communication skills as reflected by clear communication skills, active listening, interest-based negotiation, conflict resolution skills, and strong presentation and public speaking skills Demonstrated knowledge and experience with collaborative interprofessional competencies and experience with working within an interprofessional collaborative practice Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks applicable to the practice of health professions in rehab Demonstrated knowledge and experience with cultural competence, equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation to support working with all families, learners, staff, and partners
