Reporting to the Manager of Research and Innovation, the Research Coordinator facilitates internal and external research funding processes from pre-award through post-award administration. The Coordinator assists faculty researchers with grant preparation, submission requirements, funding portals, and post-award processes, applying knowledge of Tri-Agency and other research funding programs, institutional policies, research administration systems, and ethical compliance processes to ensure funding requirements and institutional obligations are met. The Research Coordinator also supports internal and external research awards for faculty, students, and postdoctoral fellows, contributes to policy and process development, maintains research-related databases, and provides administrative support for research services and compliance activities.

The successful candidate will have a University degree and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in research administration or research services. This experience will include process and policy development and advising; funding opportunities, including pre-submission, submission, and post-decision requirements; Tri-Agency and other government funding agencies; and equity, diversity, and inclusion. A graduate degree or a Skilled Certificate in Research Administration or Research Management through the Canadian Association of Research Administrators is considered an asset.

This position is classified at Wage Grade 80, with a wage range of $32.27 per hour (Step 1) to $40.81 per hour (Step 9). Placement within the salary range will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market conditions.
