We are seeking a highly capable accounting qualified to support financial operations and month-end processes in a dynamic, manufacturing or product‑based environment. The successful candidate will handle full‑cycle accounting tasks, ensure accurate reporting, and provide reliable, audit‑ready financial information to support operational and project decision‑making. This role requires someone who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver timely results with a high level of accuracy.

1‑month contract with potential of extension. Hours 8am - 5pm in the office. NW Edmonton.

Responsibilities

- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across CAD and USD accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations .
- Support month‑end close processes, including preparation of IFRS‑aligned working papers and supporting schedules.
- Reconcile inventory, COGS, and other manufacturing‑related accounts , ensuring accurate project and operational reporting.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date QuickBooks Online records , including data entry, adjustments, and reporting.
- Monitor financial activity and cash flow to identify potential issues and assist with resolution.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support financial reporting and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing and organizing required documentation and reconciliations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency.





Qualifications

- 2–5+ years of general accounting experience , preferably in manufacturing, product‑based, or multi‑entity organizations.
- Strong expertise in bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and month‑end closing.
- Familiarity with multi‑currency accounting and the impact of foreign exchange on financial statements.
- Knowledge of IFRS month‑end reporting requirements.
- Experience managing inventory, COGS, and other operational accounts.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, formulas, data analysis).
- Ability to work independently , prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
- Highly detail‑oriented, reliable, and organized with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills , able to collaborate with finance, operations, and project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to support audits and prepare accurate, audit‑ready financial documentation .
